Today’s Solutions: April 29, 2024

The car industry has recognized the inevitability of an all-electric future for vehicles. With Jaguar and GM’s recent announcements about their combustion-engine-free futures, it seems like only a matter of time before every company is outpacing gas-powered production with EV models. The latest company to commit to a greener future is Swedish carmaker Volvo which announced this week that it plans to go all-electric by 2030.

According to Volvo, half of their cars will be all-electric by 2025 and the other half will be hybrid with all vehicles going electric by the end of the decade. To support this goal, the company plans to launch a whole new line of entirely electric vehicles. The first, the C40, is a fully electric SUV with a range of 261 miles. The company also stated that its electric vehicles will be equipped with wireless upgrades to improve range and efficiency as EV technology improves.

Volvo Chief Executive Håkan Samuelsson told reporters, “I am totally convinced there will be no customers who really want to stay with a petrol engine. We are convinced that an electric car is more attractive for customers.”
