Attention all men! Researchers at Harvard University say that if you’re not ejaculating at least 21 times a month, then you’re not properly tending to your health.

That’s right, according to a study that was published in the journal European Urology, men who ejaculate more frequently reduce their chances of developing prostate cancer by a third. The study included a sample of 31,925 men who provided their average monthly ejaculation frequencies.

“We evaluated whether ejaculation frequency throughout adulthood is related to prostate cancer risk in a large US-based study,” the study reads.

“We found that men reporting higher compared to the lower ejaculatory frequency in adulthood were less likely to be subsequently diagnosed with prostate cancer. These findings provide additional evidence of a beneficial role of more frequent ejaculation throughout adult life in the etiology of [prostate cancer], particularly for low-risk disease.”

However, the benefits of frequent ejaculation don’t stop there. It is also linked to significant drops in feelings of stress and anxiety, and for those who have trouble sleeping, ejaculating releases hormones like prolactin and oxytocin, resulting in the feeling of drowsiness.

According to Medicine Net, “In addition to decreased feelings of pain, secretion of endorphins leads to feelings of euphoria, modulation of appetite, the release of sex hormones, and enhancement of the immune response.”

So, gentlemen, consider this a gentle reminder (and perhaps great news) that ensuring that you ejaculate regularly is part of maintaining your health.
