US citizens are living longer now than any other time in history—if that’s not good news then we’re not sure what is. A new report released by the Center for Disease Control says that the average age for American’s is now 78.8 years. The average breaks down by gender—81.2 years for females and 76.4 years for males. Causes for the jump in life expectancy are attributed to reductions of deaths from major illnesses like heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Three cheers for longer, healthier lives!
