Young parents in the United States often struggle with combining work and care for their newborn babies. The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 currently provides employees at companies of a certain size 12 weeks of unpaid leave. But large and new companies are taking a progressive view on this, with Netflix being the latest company to install an unlimited leave policy for new mothers and fathers for the first year after the birth or adoption of a child.
