Unlike the vertical supply chain of the fossil fuel-based energy system which is controlled by very few entities and some stakeholders, renewable energies decentralize energy production and consumption, and provides opportunities for everyday citizens to have a direct impact on the ownership and implementation of energy. In other words, everyday citizens have the ability to work and invest in renewable energy projects.
