Aside from yoga’s well known benefits– increased flexibility, improved sleep, and improved cardio and circular health, yoga is being used to help children with special needs. Prafull Oorja, a non–profit yoga studio in India started by Americans Madeleine Sears and Sowmya Ayyar living in India, teaches yoga to children with special needs. Benefits of children taking part in yoga include improved lung capacity and an increase in flow of oxygen to the brain. Read more on The Better India.
