Renewable energy guru, Amory Lovins, famously said: “We’d find more energy in the attics of American homes than in all the oil buried in Alaska.” A new report by the Joint Research Center of the European Commission proves his point. The sum of energy savings plus the renewable energy power of solar and wind will overtake the sum of all imported coal, oil and gas by 2030 in the countries of the European Union, according to the study. Energy efficiency could become a “niche fuel” for investors, says the report.
