Today’s Solutions: May 10, 2026

It’s not the first time that new economic realities change political perspectives. Most Republicans in the U.S. reject any role of humans in global warming. However, a small and growing number of once-skeptical Republicans are embracing wind and solar as these clean energy sources begin to deliver electricity at a lower cost than fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources are also gaining appeal amongst Republicans because they bolster America’s energy independence and boost economic development in impoverished areas.  Says former six-term Republican congressman Bob Inglis: “What I sense among Republicans is there is some belief that, yes, this does sound like a song we could sing.”
