Consider this: grip strength is better than blood pressure at predicting fatal cardiovascular disease and stroke risk, according to a study of nearly 140,000 people in 14 countries published in the Lancet. It will take further research to understand why this is the case, so appropriate action can be taken to lower those risks. But scientists, at the very least, have discovered a new lead into improved healthcare.
