California is closing its last nuclear power plant in 2025. The historic deal to replace the 31-year old Diablo Canyon nuclear plant with renewable energy could be a model for the rest of the country. However, current renewable energy trends show that the world can transition straight from fossil fuels to clean, safe renewable energy.
