Accepting more friendship requests on Facebook is associated with lower mortality, according to a study released Monday. Researchers examined data from 12 million California Facebook profiles that was made anonymous, along with public California records, over a two-year period. They found that those in the top 10 percent of accepted friendship requests had a mortality rate two-thirds of those in the bottom 10 percent.
