Reducing the risk of dementia has just been added to the laundry list of reasons to spend more time outside, in the sun. Researchers from University of Exeter Medical School in the United Kingdom have linked the amount of vitamin D people get to dementia that sets in later in life. In the largest study of it’s kind scientists proved that a moderate vitamin D deficiency was linked to a 53% increased likelihood in developing dementia, and those with severe vitamin D deficiencies had a whopping 125% increase in the likelihood of developing dementia. So go outside and spend time in the sun!
