Sleeping on animal fur can reduce risk of asthma

Up until now the benefits of using fur haven’t extended far beyond keeping indigenous people warm in remote locations where resources are limited. But a recent German study found that sleeping on fur in the first few months of life reduced the likelihood of developing asthma by 79%. The cohort was compiled of over 3,000 newborns, mostly recruited in 1998. The effectiveness of sleeping on fur drops significantly after babies are more than three months old.
