A new campaign called Image Gently advocates for physicians to conduct as few x-rays on child patients as possible, and if absolutely necessary, then taking them with the lowest radiation setting and in the shortest possible time. The American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology back the initiative.
