Ultra-events, like ultra marathons, or deca-triathlons, aren’t a young person’s sport, but a fit person’s sport. If you’re unfamiliar with endurance races they’re pretty much grueling hyper-cardio races on steroids—like a 625-mile foot race or a 3,000-mile bike ride. While you might be thinking, “I’m too old for that” the reality is you’re not. Unless you have a preexisting heart condition there is no way to run yourself into a heart attack, and with a little training (and by that we mean extremely extensive) anyone, regardless of age, can cross the finish line after cycling from coast to coast across America in 10-days (yes, that’s an actual race).
