Nowadays, we have so many data available about health and healthcare, that it would be odd for doctors not to use it. And this is why at New York University’s medical school, students are being trained to use the data. Doing this, they will be able to discern health trends more easily. Also, they can use big data to try and find out if a treatment is effective. In New York, students are now getting access to an enormous database with more than 5 million anonymous records with information on every hospital patient in the state for the preceding two years. A goldmine of knowledge, that they can use to improve the quality of care.
