The truth is that the $3 trillion global apparel industry is so vast and complicated that many brands don’t know the conditions in the factories where their products are made. To make people start thinking about who makes their clothes and under what conditions, a startup has created a clothing company in which the seamstress who makes the clothes places a tag in the clothing article with their own signature on it. The hope is that it will make people realize that there is a human being with actual hopes and dreams responsible for what they wear.
