Food allergies can plague a person throughout their life, but research tells us we have the power to prevent life-threatening food allergies from developing if we introduce allergenic foods in infants early on. And while the idea of giving allergenic foods to your kid might sound scary, the good news is that there’s a new company that specializes in simplifying the process of preventing food allergies from developing within children.

That company goes by the name Ready, Set, Food!, and they are attempting to stop food allergies in an affordable way by providing parents with a pre-measured, all-natural supplement that dissolves easily in breastmilk, formula, or food. Using the same process proven effective in three clinical trials, it gradually exposes infants to peanuts, egg, and milk – the foods that cause 80% of all allergies.

CEO Daniel Zakowski felt inspired to find an effective way to help kids after his nephew Abe ate a bite of pizza and found himself struggling to breathe, which meant he needed to have a dose of EpiPen. Abe’s food allergies mean that he has to be watched at all times, and once Zakowski realized his allergies could likely have been prevented, he felt inspired to create Ready, Set, Food!.

Considering this company might just have the solution to a major public health problem, we will certainly be keeping an eye out on Ready, Set, Food! as it develops further.
