Today’s Solutions: December 17, 2025

Just last week, we wrote a story about Pizza Hut becoming the first national pizza chain to offer plant-based toppings from Beyond Meat at all their locations. This week, we have more news from Beyond Meat after the faux-meat company unveiled new versions of its plant-based burgers that are both healthier and juicier.

As reported in Engadget, the lead burger is reportedly the company’s “juiciest” while still containing 35 percent less saturated fat than typical 80/20 beef (80 percent lean, 20 percent fat). Then there’s a more nutrition-oriented burger that has 55 percent less saturated fat than 80/20 beef. Best of all, both of the plant burgers promise B vitamins and minerals “comparable” to beef while offering fewer calories and less overall fat than their bovine equivalents.

If you want to get your hands on one of these new burgers, you’ll have to wait till early 2021, although Los Angeles residents can reserve a slot to try the burgers between November 18th and November 20th.

For those at the Optimist Daily, seeing how plant-based meats are improving both in terms of health and their likeness to real beef gives us encouragement that more carnivores will ditch the real thing in favor of healthier, greener options.
