Today’s Solutions: April 12, 2026

Former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan scores yet again! On Thanksgiving eve, the NBA superstar donated $2 million to Feeding America, the country’s largest hunger-relief outfit which has been particularly busy amidst the pandemic.

The proceeds of the donation have come from the Emmy-winning documentary “The Last Dance” about Jordan’s successful basketball career. The ESPN 10-part documentary came as a welcomed distraction in April, near the beginning of the pandemic.

The donation couldn’t have come at a better timing, with more than 54 million Americans — or 16 percent of the population — facing the risk of food insecurity as a result of Covid-19, according to estimates by Feeding America.

“In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to Covid-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks,” said the 14-time NBA All-Star. “I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from ‘The Last Dance’ to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago,” Jordan added.

As reported by CNN, Feeding America operates in every US county, with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries nationwide, and has instituted Covid-proof options in many places, including seniors-only hours, drive-through pantries, and expanded home delivery.
