Honda unveiled its sleek first hydrogen-powered fuel cell sedan to be offered to the public, and it’s really cool. On a single charge, the Clarity Fuel Cell can travel over 400 miles (some 700 kilometers) and can be refilled in just three minutes. It also has the hydrogen car industry’s most compact fuel cell stack (the unit that transforms hydrogen into electricity), fitting under the hood to leave more room for interior space. Perhaps the most unique feature of the car though is its ability to power your home. When plugged in with another Honda gadget called the Power Exporter 9000, the Clarity Fuel Cell can produce enough electricity to power an average home for about seven days, perfect during a natural disaster or a simple power outage. As far as electric cars go, this Honda could rank up with the likes of Tesla, but at half the current price.
