Israeli startup StoreDot is developing a new electric car battery that can fully charge in just a few minutes. Using nanotechnology to make new organic materials that make up the battery, the waiting time will only be a fraction of what it currently takes to charge a standard lithium-ion battery. The new batteries will first be put into use in cell phones sometime next year and aren’t expected to make it into commercial electric cars for the coming 5 years.
