Today’s Solutions: June 20, 2026

A new Danish study shows that for people with early Alzheimer’s, moderate drinking is linked to a stunning 77% lower risk of dying. The results came as a surprise to the researchers, who already knew that moderate drinking leads to a reduced risk of death from coronary disease. However, they did not think this would also apply to brain disease. Moderate drinking means to drink one or two glasses a day. In this study, the researchers did not make a distinction between different types of alcoholic drinks. They didn’t rule out yet that the protective benefit associated with alcohol comes from having a strong social network or a better quality of life. But in any case, it is shown that drinking is not necessarily bad for you. More and more studies are pointing towards the benefits of drinking a few glasses of alcohol every week. As long as we drink in moderation, say: cheers!
