When it comes to forecasting the future, most models use linear projections based on current data. However, as history shows, change almost never happens according to linear models. The carriages were not gradually replaced by the automobile and computers and mobile phones did not find their places in our homes step by step. It’s unlikely that clean energy will take over in a linear way either. This blog makes the point the electric cars could drive oil out of business much sooner than most now think.
