Losing your personal integrity is the worst thing you can do to your happiness, but in a world where we constantly wish to please, it’s hard to stay authentic. It’s not a bad thing to be thinking of others, it’s just that pleasing people is not the same as helping people. And if we’re always pretending in order to please and to be accepted, then we fall out of sync with our wants and needs. If you want a fulfilling life, stop pretending and remember be transparent, honest, and authentic. Here are some of the counter-productive things that happen if we don’t.
