Today’s Solutions: July 17, 2025

You’ve heard it a million times, “kids these days”. It’s an age-old challenge that we’ve heard called the generational superiority complex – where the last generation bemoans the readiness of the next generation to take on the world. Well, that’s not a particularly Optimist point of view and we challenge it! We are thrilled to report that academic institutions are looking for solutions to the high levels of stress and anxiety, recognizing that our current collegiate generation grew up in a very different world than previous generations. Florida State University, among others, has put together programs to help students deal with the trauma or serious challenges they have faced prior to entering college. These programs give students an opportunity to seek awareness for why they might react to situations with stress or anxiety and tools to change their outcomes. From our view – kids these days, and the educators improving their experience are exactly what makes us optimistic.
